What we do
Nuova Sorema s.r.l. is structured into three integrated divisions:
ENGINEERING — We design operating and prime mover machines (pumps, compressors, fans, turbines, motors), equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, filters) and complete systems for manufacturers, contractors and end users.
OEM
We build and sell the solutions designed by our Engineering division, also providing service, maintenance, spare parts and technical support.
COMMERCIALE
We supply selected products and systems, sourced from OEMs with whom we maintain a solid technical and commercial relationship.
When clients call us
We are often brought in outside standard procedures because of the need for: rapid solutions, specialist expertise, and the ability to design and build systems or prototypes in a short timeframe. Two examples:
1. The client says: "My business is renting gas extraction plants at a fixed daily rate. I made a significant investment to build and install them. But after 8 years of operation, maintenance costs are generating losses rather than profits. Nuova Sorema: make sure that over the next 24 months, maintenance costs come down."
2. The client says: "My business is selling 'special' machines. I have secured a contract, but the high vibration levels on the first prototype are leading my client to cancel the purchase contract on grounds of justified technical cause. Nuova Sorema: identify the cause of these vibrations and tell us how to reduce them — in 6 days."
When to choose Nuova Sorema
In our market there are three categories of suppliers.
"Off-the-shelf" products and/or services
The client typically approaches them having already selected what they need. They usually put two or more in competition to obtain the best price, which is the key "driver."
"Semi-custom" products and/or services
The client typically approaches them by sending a "technical specification" describing what they need. They usually put two or more in competition to obtain the best price, which is one of the key "drivers."
"Full custom / tailor-made" products and/or services
The client typically approaches them directly, in a more "streamlined" way, since in most cases they are dealing with a critical issue that is difficult to fit into pre-established frameworks and needs to be resolved in a very short time. They rarely put potential suppliers in competition: the complexity of what they are asking for makes speed of response and very tight timelines essential. The "price" is usually not the key "driver."
